This is a brief insight into the struggles both myself and my
parents had to get help and support both medically and educationally. These
struggles appeared right from the age of 7 and I have only just been
diagnosed at the age of 22.
There have been tantrums, tears and so much more.
The best thank you I could give to all of my family is to show you
That the poet you once had
Is in full flow again.
So here you are
Time
By Zoe Russell
When I was seven
Things started to change,
I kept trying things
Again and again.
I tried so hard to give
But got no get,
Even now I’m trying
Just not there yet.
Something isn’t right
She doesn’t understand,
Please just give her
A helping hand!
Things don’t come easy
To her,
As you now,
Those bright colours
We want them to glow.
Doctors, doctors,
She’s just a stubborn teen,
Now there is something
You’ve not seen.
Time skips on
By just a few years,
But I’m Still struggling
With all these fears.
The pain and heartache
Still remains, just like a bunch
Of heavy cranes.
The rain has now gone
And I’ll stop wining,
For the big bright sun
Inside is
Shining.
The winner is here
Now standing tall,
A true victor
Out of you all.
Now tell me there
Was nothing
Wrong,
I think inside
You knew all along.
I proved in time beyond
All doubt,
It just took a while
To figure
Things out.
All of you turned
Your backs on me
And I’ve paid the fee
With ADHD.
For now I’m
Not going off the wall,
Peace at last for a brand
New dawn.
It’s not too late to start again,
So I’ve picked up my paper
And my pen.
I’m keeping things
Positive even in strife,
And giving myself
A brand new life.
The Lady is back
I’m determined to succeed,
Now all that is left
Is for you to believe.
