adders.org - About Us

Our objective is to promote awareness to Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and to provide information and as much free practical help as we can to sufferers, both adults and children, and their families in the UK and around the World via this website.

This photo was taken back in 1998 so a bit out of date as the boys are now all over 18! I am a few years older too!!

adders.org is run by Caroline Hensby of Thanet ADDers, an ADD/ADHD non-profit support group based in Thanet, Kent, England. She has an adult son (Richard)with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and has also been diagnosed as having ADD herself, so has experience of both child and adult ADD/ADHD. Click here for more information on the local group, Thanet ADDers. You can also read articles that have been in the Media/Press about us, by clicking here.

What's On This Website?

On this site you will find pages of useful information about this disorder as well as lots of free practical help. A CD Rom of software programmes, including several specific add/adhd related programmes, is available from this site in the Charity Stall section. Caroline has written a children's ADD/ADHD book in conjunction with writer Bernard Braham and this is also available to download in interactive format. All the programs are full uncut versions and they are all completely FREE. What's the catch? There isn't one. We've been through the nightmare of living with an ADHD child and not knowing what was wrong or how to deal with him, for 12 years before he was diagnosed. Any funds earned from the banner adverts you see or occasional donations received,go directly to the local Support Group, Thanet ADDers, to try and defray some of the costs involved in operating a 24 hour helpline, running this website, mailing information, setting up meetings etc., etc.
